Around the corner from Maranello Motorsport, and across the train line from the exotic car dealerships of McLaren, Ferrari, Rolls Royce and Aston Martin, is no ordinary cafe. I say it's a cafe, but it isn't really, as its main attraction isn't coffee or ham-cheese croissants, but rather exotic super cars and rare classics. Dutton Garage is a world renown retailer for cars worth drooling over. It's international network allows Dutton to source, purchase, take care of and sell vehicles for customers around the world. Although their Melbourne showroom is the centre of the World of Dutton, they also have a showroom in New Zealand that focuses on classic cars and Dutton Wholesale in Brisbane that sells prestige used cars. Regardless of whether you can afford to purchase the cars that Dutton Garage has on offer, it's still a treat to walk around their showroom and engulf yourself among rare classics, heroic supercars and pretty much anything in between. What they have in stock is always changing too, so multiple trips to the coolest cafe in Melbourne should be in the calendar. Walking through the heavy doors into the entrance room, this Porsche 911 GT3 RS grabbed my attention instantly. This is a car I remember reading about in Top Gear magazines and having as my desktop background as a kid. It was and probably still is one of my ultimate dream cars. So to see it in the flesh certainly was a surprise. The classic Porsche 911 lines, with added aggression and a flamboyant touch with the red wheels and stickers was more than enough to stick in my young head at the time it was released. Another car I couldn't stop taking photos of was this Cooper BRM which was ran in the 1965 European Formula 2 championship and driven by Jackie Stewart. The car is beautifully restored and full of little details to delve into. Not only is the showroom full of cars parked inches from each other, but it also filled to the brim with car memorabilia and motorsport artwork. And no collection would be complete without a handful of Ferrari's now would it? Dutton Garage also has a motorsport connection, being one of the main sponsors for the Targa series in Australia, consisting of three tarmac rallies, the most well known being the Targa Tasmania. Dutton Garage is certainly a place to check out if you're a car enthusiast in Melbourne, to either grab a coffee, drool over mint and rare supercars, or both. Bonus Gallery
